Philippines Fashion

Philippines Fashion evolution and changes can be seen and witnessed from the original pre-colonial fashion. Before, fashion were ruled by Rajahs and chieftain and had a peaceful existence until the time they became a colony of Spain. It was an upheaval time for the natives and only a fortunate few were able to enjoy the fashion trend at its peak.

The Filipino people however did try to determine their own Filipino character but not without incorporating the foreign characteristics they have acquired during the hundreds and hundreds of years they experienced with foreign powers. The Spanish Colonial Era was the longest colonization the Philippines was subjected under. Naturally, the country has picked up a lot of the Spaniard influences.

Chinese Fashion Trends

Chinese Fashion Trends, in the past half-century is a fascinating case study. The country began the period in isolation and went through a phase of militant anti-fashion ideology.

However, sixty years on, China is seeking to challenge the world in all fields of endeavour, including fashion design and manufacture. International fast-fashion retailers are doing very well in China.

Just in Beijing, H&M and Zara already have eight and nine stores respectively. And insider sources tell us that Forever 21 is opening up a store in Shanghai’s Bund at the beginning of next year.

However, Koreans have prided themselves as forward in fashion. They are very proud of their traditional costume, the han bok, which is still being used today even by today’s generation of Koreans, in important family occasions like weddings, and during national holidays. These days, Koreans have adapted influences from Western fashion, particularly from American fashion. The American fashion style is much applicable in Korea, as Koreans enjoy the same temperate weather as in the USA. But even with the temperate weather in Korea, a majority of Korean women like to wear miniskirts and have high-heeled boots to match them.
